An outside lab tested Dustav for Google. Every Google-verified app that reads Gmail has to pass the same test. Google approved Dustav in September 2026.
- Which AI reads my email?
- Claude, made by Anthropic, running on our account under Anthropic's commercial terms. Anthropic doesn't train its models on your email.
- What happens to my data?
- We don't sell it, show you ads, or train AI on it. What Dustav reads from Gmail follows Google's Limited Use rules.
- Where is it kept?
- Your mail stays in your Gmail. The copy Dustav works from is stored encrypted at rest, and your Google sign-in is encrypted with AES-256.
- Can an email trick it?
- Dustav reads every email as information, never as instructions. And Dustav can't send, so the worst a bad email can do is a draft you read first.
- Does anyone read my mail?
- Not unless you ask us to help, or it's needed to keep the service secure, or the law requires it.
- Can I leave?
- Disconnect Google any time and the reading stops. Delete your account and everything Dustav read and built is erased.

The part you can't generate
Dustav is vibecoded by any honest definition — I haven't written a line of it. So why are there thousands of AI inbox apps and only a handful like it? When making software got cheap, the filter moved from the build to month two. What gets you through it is everything an AI can't compress: a person who says no, the memory of why, the nerve to delete, and time.

The folklore is months and five figures; Dustav took two weeks and $675, and came back 48 pass, zero fail. Not because the code is special — because the audit doesn't grade craft. It grades evidence, and we'd been producing it as a byproduct for four months.
