The inbox

You're the one who hits send

Drafts land in your real Gmail Drafts; nothing goes out without your click.

The most important rule in the product: nothing sends without your click. Dustav drafts every reply, addresses it, threads it — and then stops. The send is yours, every single time. This isn't a setting you can misconfigure; it's how the system is built. (What Dustav never does covers the whole family of fences.)

Drafts live in your real Gmail

A reply Dustav prepares isn't parked in some separate app queue — it's mirrored into your actual Gmail Drafts, threaded onto the real conversation. That means you can open the Gmail app on your phone, polish the draft there, and send it from Gmail if you like; Dustav sees the edit, and sees the send. Or work from Dustav's side: the Drafts tab holds everything written and not yet sent — replies waiting on an inbox card, new emails, the ones a workflow prepared — and each inbox card opens into the full conversation with a real composer: reply, reply-all, forward, Cc and Bcc, attachments, the works.

Editing without retyping

You rarely need to rewrite a draft by hand. Tell Dustav what's off — "warmer," "we can't do Tuesday, offer Thursday," "add the deposit amount" — and it revises the draft in place. The voice it drafts in is learned from your own sent mail during setup, and it keeps calibrating as you edit; your sign-offs and signature are yours, harvested with your confirmation, never invented.

The send itself

Hit Send and there's a brief undo window — a countdown during which one click pulls it back, no harm done. Then it goes out through your own Gmail send: to the recipient it's simply an email from you, threaded like any other, sitting in your Gmail Sent. If you asked Dustav to also file the conversation, the filing happens only once the send has verifiably gone.

Writing at midnight? The arrow beside Send is Schedule send — tomorrow morning, tomorrow afternoon, Monday morning, or a time you pick — and the email is held until then. Until it goes it sits in Drafts wearing the time, and Cancel send gives you your words back.

After the send

Your Sent tab mirrors the sent side with a receipt view of each message — and Dustav reads your outbound mail the same way it reads inbound. A sent reply closes the matching item on TODO, marks the conversation handled, harvests any new contact, and withdraws any now-redundant draft. The loop closes on its own — because you closed it, and Dustav noticed.

New email, too

You're not limited to replies. New email on any mail tab opens a blank composer backed by the same machinery — draft it yourself or ask Dustav to, same undo window, same reconcile after.
