TODO

What you owe people — added as Dustav reads, cleared when you reply, including the promises you make.

What you owe people — added as Dustav reads, cleared when you reply.

Every email that leaves you owing something — a reply, a decision, a payment to make, a thing to bring — puts an item on TODO, phrased as the actual obligation and linked to the email it came from. You don't write the list; the reading does.

It clears itself as honestly as it fills

Answer the email — from Dustav or straight from Gmail — and the item resolves, because Dustav reads your sent mail and closes the loop. A promise you make in a reply ("I'll get you the quote Friday") goes on the list too, with the day you named: nobody emails you a reminder about your own promises, so this is where they're kept.

Three tabs

  • On you — what you owe, with anything overdue called out.
  • Waiting on others — things someone else is holding up. Ask a customer which glaze they want and the item moves here with their name on it, until they reply. If a month goes by with no word, it comes off the list into Handled — reopen it if it's still live.
  • Handled — the history, including how each item closed.

Did it yourself? Tick the box to cross it off — it's reversible. Search covers the whole history — "did I ever get back to her?" is answerable.
